Heavenly. Of course that descriptor may oversell it, but it is just damn good. One of the best beers I have tasted in the last year, or ever. I only had one serving at the Boulevard Brewery beer hall in K.C., so it is hard to recall all the details as it is not currently in hand. But it is somewhat sweet with a notable Cabernet flavor. Full bodied with appropriate stout carbonation. Intense, this beer is not for the sheepish or green beer drinker (but that should be obvious just from its name). Although I love whiskey barreling, rum and wine barreling are highly underexploited. I wish more brewers would spend more time on such things, and less on their 9th different IPA.
