Very similar to Kentucky bourbon barrel beer... Personally I think it's better. Vanilla scent much more apparent than Kentucky bourbon, but actual vanilla flavor is more balanced. In addition, it has a mild smokey flavor and a hint of boozyness, however all of this is very balanced. Overall I can't imagine a bourbon barrel conditioned beer being much better than this.

Deep caramel color. Nice bourbon flavor and aftertaste. Not overly sweet. Light and crisp. Very drinkable.

Very hard to find here in NJ....well worth the wait. Can taste the bourbon...so if you're a fan of bourbon GET IT. There is an oak flavor to it but still, like I hoped, I get the scotch ale flavor not over powered by the oak or bourbon. Love this brew. Worth the wait and price.

2012 10.2 abv. Delicious. Really get the barrel aging. Love this beer. Def worth a try if you can find it.

Wonderful aroma to this Incredibly complex ale with many favor profiles. The barrel aging on this in addition to the added vanilla really takes this to another level. This is definitely a sipper that you share with a friend.

Just horrible. To strong of an alcohol taste mixed with a woody taste

Like Dirty Bastard on steroids! Big, malty, fruitcake-like flavor's, bourbon finish, some heat but could easily be solved with a little aging
2 year old bottle- amazing example of what time can do to a barrel aged beer, bourbon soaked raisins, vanilla, coconut, zero alc heat, great beer

Not a fan of woody taste

A smoky, bourboned version of Dirty Bastard. Alcohol can be strong if you're not prepared for it, but goes down smooth with hints of vanilla and caramel.
