Black with a moderate creamy beige head, with decent retention and curtain-like, clingy lacing. Nose offers cocoa and some cherries with just faint smoke, though bottle is a bit dated and smoke may have faded. Taste starts with a chewy sweetness, that evolves into a bittersweet chocolate, and dries up with an increasingly roasty, lightly smoky, espresso-like finish that lasts. Body is medium with a nice creaminess.
