This stout made me sing to the dark skies with notes unknown all night. Would climb over orcs and family to drink this again!

One of the mothers of all stouts. Aged, oak, vanilla, omfg goodness. Balanced, sweet with some bite, multitude of notes!

Beautiful stout. Pours a dark dark black, but almost no head. Smell is dark and roasty, hints of coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is quite thick, but not syrupy. Taste is a work of bourbon-barrel-aged art, with a dominant chocolate flavor backed by hints of roasty malt and coffee. 4.5/5, would definitely drink again.

Rushed down to Sams QS as soon as I found out there was a Bells tap takeover. Both Black Note and the Oracle were on tap. I had very right expectations for this hard to acquire stout. Unfortunately, this was a bit of a disappointment. Complex but not balanced. Great mouthfeel with velvety smoothness and a nice creamy finish. To me this was too sweet and some of the flavors did not mesh well together.

Good barrel aged stout with lots of body.
