Great bourbon ale balance

The ABV is actually 10.7%! Nice ginger flavor with a smooth bourbon finish. A well bodied beer

Had this on 4/29/13 and was pleased with the vanilla, wood flavor.

Poured from a growler at roughly room temperature. Rich, malty ale with ribbons of buttery vanilla and light caramel, maybe just a hint of that devil uisge beatha on the nose. Fills the mouth with joy. I'm getting some subtle oak or pine on the back end, but I'm not sure- I'm not a friggin' lumberjack, though I'd probably be quite happy to skip, jump and press wild flowers right about now.

Good but expensive, not worth the price

Very slightly sour but well balanced with the usual winter ale characteristics. Will look forward to this brew in cooler weather.

Definite bourbon flavor, sweet, oaky, tobacco flavors. Boozy, medium mouthfeel, mild semi-sweet, semi-bitter finish.

Barely tastes of bourbon, overall really tasty and no flavor of the beer seems to be overwhelming, tastes sort of like dragons milk but not as smooth or creamy.

Pleasant balance of beer and bourbon. Does that make it a boilermaker?
