dkrenik - November 8, 20162016 edition; 12.5 ABV. Cloudy mahogany with modest head that dissipates quickly. Prune-ish, almost port-like, aromas. Chocolate and malt dominate the palate. Medium-full bodied with modest carbonation.
Fun brew.

dlitolff - July 6, 2015Outstanding bourbon barrel strong ale. Had 2013 batch in July 2015. Raisins and vanilla, chocolate and mild vanilla. Complex and delicious. Smooth with light booze. Bottle, July 2015.
Borderking - December 19, 2014This is better than the brandy barrel-aged version. Much better balance of malt, alcohol, and mild carbonation. The bourbon is forward and quite alluring, making for a sophisticated and intriguing "sipper."
