I realized I am not a huge fan of these sweet DIPAs. Very interesting concoction nonetheless. An acquired taste, I assume.

Deep bodied, malty delicious IPA. First dogfish head I've ever had

Nice but not a fan o the maltiness. Though its more in the smell than the taste. I like em more bitter!

Palate is strong malt flavor on front tongue, bitter hop aftertaste. Hops blend on the back of the palate to create a bitterness that is a warm, dry alcohol swarm. Hard to find clarity in hop notes. This is definitely a dogfish head beer in the sweetness of the ale. I enjoy dogfish head ales but I think their take on the IPA is misguided and not true to the bitterness one expects from an IPA. That is not to say this IPA is not bitter, it is, but particularly in the aftertaste. A large swig yields a large malty sweetness with hints of bitterness that returns to a malty sweet at the end of the palate. Then a bitter after burn. Aroma is sweets, including banana, taste does not follow in that regard. Taste is subtle hop notes, particularly citrus, mostly catalogued between malty sweetness. Overall it is a malty IPA with a sweetness that is untrue to the bitter American IPA style that I have come to love.

Perfect go to DIPA! Sweet with warming alcohol and hop bitterness and aroma to match. Yay Sam

Has been a while but this is every bit the winner.
