Best aged. This beer is about as true to style as you can get. Not surprising...it's from Bruges

Complex and slightly floral, rich tasting beer. From the bottle: Traditional top-fermentation beer that deferments in the bottle. Brewed by the unique family brewery De Halve Moon, which has been located in the heart of Bruges since 1856. Straffe Hendricks is an authentic Brugean Tripel beer, still brewed according to the original recipe. To serve cold.

APPEARANCE - Cloudy light amber with a 2-finger head that dissipates. AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, herbaceous. TASTE - Sweet, herbaceous. A bit boozy. MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Good carbonation. A bit gooey. VALUE - Not too bad. OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Not my favorite. A sipping beer only.

Caramel rich yet drinkable at the right acquisition pace. It's high gravity is unnoticed unlike others. This is an interesting and intriguing taste.

A good triple beer. Lots of sediment in the bottom.

A wonderful Flanders tripel from Brugge. High carbonation, nice fruity nose with a hint of clove and banana. Nice bitter hop aftertaste. The 9 percent alcohol content is well masked. 11/11/2014 - Belgo in Covant Garden - this is a bit of a unique tripel; not nearly the upfront clove/banana as a St. Bernardus; hoppy finish, with hints of metal.
