Unbelievably bitter hoppy taste which was surprising given the light citrus nose.

Pours a bright yellow-orange from the bottle to a DFH IPA glass. A tight, one finger head rests on top of a ton of carbonation. Aroma: huge grapefruit with some lemon-lime zest and dank, dank hops. Taste: crushing bitterness takes the lead with a huge bitter grapefruit/citrus to follow. Again, picking up lemon-lime with more towards lime. No malt flavor or aroma. Surprisingly clean finish and a slightly thinner mouthfeel than I would have hoped for. Overall: while I would have some malt sweetness to balance out the crushing bitterness, this is a super-bitter-citrusy beer. Not for the faint of heart though, as this beer is 8.2% and the alcohol is nowhere to be detected.

Strong IPA smooth with a nice medium grapefruit back with a little something extra on the pallet.

A unique and refreshing brew. The grapefruit is only a hint. This is a light, slightly bitter ale with a great finish and kick. A must try.

Sour wet dog nose. But some of that is due to the beer soaked wooden deck at Billy's. Super bitter. Tastes like the name. Grapefruit slam ipa. Why so expensive for a ten oz?
