Too sweet. Bacon nose

This is a big beer with lots going on. The smoke is strong and overpowers the oak. There is a big malt backbone which makes it really sweet. I don't get a lot of Belgian characteristics from this. It gets better as it warms up. I appreciate the quality of the beer yet it's not for me so I won't hurry to drink it again.

Lighter than most Belgian strongs. More mellow than Peres Jacques from Goose Island but still nice.

I liked how smoky it was but didn't actually like the flavor of it. Whisky barrel flavors are fantastic. Not big Belgian ale flavors. Not sure if I would have this again

Eh. It's ok. Good idea but a little too smokey for my taste.

Not a dark ale, more like a tripel. Not overly smoked or paled, nice balance.

Very smoking, with a Belgium finish. Scotch like characteristics. Great for sipping.
