Love it! Very strong. Should be drunk from a glass, not the bottle. Be careful, it will put you on your ass.

A deep amber, heavy headed brew with awesome retention and lacing. I have aged this, and had it "raw.". Aged, the hops mellow, bringing balance. This is a layered brew with oaky, sherry notes. Huge malt profile brings a pleasant sweetness. The hops make themselves known as well; citrus, specifically grapefruit, piney notes too. In its raw state, meaning not aged, the hops hit hard. Hop bitterness prevails. 90 IBUs, are definitely noticed. There is more than enough malt to bring some balance, bringing more of the classic barley wine style to the forefront. In its raw state, the hops are kicking in a great way.

Very hoppy. Small sips at a time and only on occasion.

Had the 2011, was way too hoppy for me. Probably meant to be aged.

Give them a couple of years in the cellar and they will develop into something quite extraordinary.

Sweet licorice, almost soy sauce savory.
