Super smoky

The aroma is one of the most appetizing scents of any food or drink I've ever had. Reminiscent of smoked meats, but better. I've had the urbock and it is a little to heavy in smokiness for me, but this Dopplebock is much better balanced. Hops are not very noticeable due to the smokiness but the extra malty sweetness is an excellent contrast. A great beer to sit and sip on, especially on a nice cold night.

The smoke aroma is so like a campfire it is slightly off putting at first. Even the first taste is a bit odd. However paired with food it adds whole new dimension. I want to plan a meal around this beer.

Big smoke smell and taste with a bacon aftertaste. Enjoyed very much.
