Despite having a low ABV this beauty is quite heavy in bourbon background flavor and taste. A bit to heavy for my palate. Almost like a Kentucky Bourbon Ale.

Solid stout and I'm not a stout fan. Nice flavor

Growler fill Appearance: Opaque- pitch black, dark tan head, good retention Aroma: Taste: Dark roasted chocolate Carmel malt, with residual sweet in finish, low salt profile but slightly noticeable Mouthfeel: Full bodied but with a surprising softness/rounded Overall: Interesting American stout with noticeable Carmel notes and slight sweet/bitter finish

After a solid day of museum hopping via Portland's awesome public transit, we walked a few blocks to the local Break Side Brew Pub. My wife ordered the plank, I ordered the Stout. Maybe the most delicious, satisfying, Stouts ever! Smooth caramel, slight salt on the back side, delicious tones of wood and chocolate. Unbelievably good, & by far, the best stout I drank in Portand!

on draft, you can smell the caramel. not syrupy at all. leaves a light hint of salt on the front of the tongue.

Caramel was pretty muted, and there was a decent amount of salt on the end. Not bad but a lot to be desired. Kind of a novelty beer for me.
