poured a deep, dark brown, with a decent, frothy beige head with good retention and a moderate amount of lacing. It smelled yeasty and bready, with notes of molasses and plums. Flavourwise, it also tasted of dark bread with a dry finish, but in that dry Irish, not hoppy sort of way that I am uncertain how to describe. It was a touch too sparkly/carbonated and too light-bodied for this taste/style if you ask me, but dry Irish stouts aren't my favourite variety to begin with. It was decent and drinkable, but not very 'stout-like' in my opinion. Grade: B-
