Smells of caramel. Taste oak and maple in the front. Oak lingers. Good lacing. Creamy lingering head. Light carbonation. Caramel base flavor.

Very drinkable. Tastes of bourbon but smooth blended taste

Great oak smell and taste, maple bourbon comes thru in a strong manner. Combo with a black IPA is a winner

Too strong bourbon and maple - tastes like cough syrup. The first from founders that has disappointed me.

I am a sucker for anything barrel aged, and this beer did not disappoint. Pours black but slightly thin, some head that dissipates quickly. Nice chocolate aroma, some sweet molasses and vanilla, a little toffee. Impressive black IPA; rich, silky, sweet. Almost a stout. Hops take a backseat to the maple, bourbon, molasses, vanilla. Finished sweet, then some bitterness, then sweet again. Nice sipper. Buy this if you can! 12/24/15 Bomber 4.5 stars
