Similar to this brewer?s black bier ale, but this one is thicker, more boozy, slightly less malty, sweeter. A real stout to show all the imposters how it?s done. Dark Horse does it again. Not bourbon aged as the previous poster said. And worthy of a photo by someone that can focus the camera.

Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, brown sugar, toffee. This is a great stout

My bottle shows 11% ABV. Opaque mahogany with foamy dark tan head that lingers. Muted aromas of sweet roasted malt dominate the nose. Palate is rich with boozy, sweet roasted malt, and anise. Full bodies with appropriate, fine, carbonation.
This is great stuff - glad that I've got another bottle.

Licorice, coffee and cocoa powder upfront with a light but bitter finish. Enjoyed but not really a fan of licorice and he flavor is pretty overpowering.

Bold, strong beer...nice bourbon touch, burnt sugars, molasses, with thick texture

Nice dark stout. Slightly thick and creamy. Tastes of dark chocolate and tobacco.
