This was ridiculously good on tap

Volatile, licorice, liquor, chocolatey, fig, vanilla smell jumps out at you. Aroma like no other beer. Dark purple, opaque color. Milky brown head (not much). Wine-like taste, due to 12%ABV, which overpowers all other tastes for me. Thick feel in the mouth. Warm in my mouth, throat, and tummy. Good with BBQ.

Like a cross between coffee, chocolate, and....soda. Not enough body for my taste. No depth. I expected more from a brew of this strength.

Nice kick of flavor, bold, definitely taste the Carmel and vanilla, long finish, lots of complexity

Extremely dark brown body w/ khaki head. Molasses roasted malt, oak & dark fruit aromas & taste. Full-flavored & full-bodied. Delicious.

Thick, syrupy, dark black, and delicious. The wood really does make the flavor interesting. It doesn't overpower, but enhances the nutty flavor. The high ABV is really well hidden. Enjoyed this, and would have it again on special occasions.

Very nice if I didn't know it was 12% I wouldn't think it. Big beer without the kick to the face nice & smooth.
