bockboy@att.net - April 12, 2018A to A-. Pretty smooth for an 11% Barleywine. English style, as hops are subdued. Plenty of alcohol (not hot), toffee, molasses and caramel. Medium heavy mouthfeel. Enough bitterness to counter the sweet malts. Could be a 2016 bottle, but uncertain. Had it again in November of 2020 and the hops seemed a bit harsh on bitterness.
web - October 4, 2015Finish was LESS bitter than I was expecting out of a Barleywine style, so I am pleasantly surprised. 3.5/5 for me, probably 4/5 for the style.
