Tastes like an overly bitter, sweet DIPA. Not bad, worth a try. Watch out for the 11.6% ABV... I prefer Avery Hog Heaven for this style. 3/1/17 Bomber 4 stars

11.6 ABV Slight barley wine taste up front -- strong imperial (bitter) finish

Very good. Definitely straddles the two styles as stated by the label.

I definitely like this. Like others have said, smooth IPA with barely wine in there but it definitely does not miss the mark. Name describes it perfectly.

Basically an IPA with barely wine alcohol. Slight apricot at first with floral finish (possible hibiscus) Ends with lingering pepper

All over the board! Huge hops big malt and almost a wood aged taste to add depth very complex

Little too boozy. Good sweetness. Nothing that stands out.

Other than the high ABV, I don't see the barley wine. Then again, I don't see the imperial IPA either. I guess that's why they have the clever name. It's just a strong ale which defies categorization. Regardless, it's good. High ABV isn't super noticeable. Definite sweetness from malt. Surprisingly, a pretty mellow taste with no aspects that jump out. Fairly easy drinking. But not a session beer at 11%.
