An entirely pleasurable ale. Nice color, a fine head with lacing, and a wonderful aroma upon pouring. Starts out tasting darker than it is; almost stout-like. It then quickly moves into a nicely hopped IPA flavor. It finishes sweet with a lingering hops to keep it interesting. I completely missed the 8.8% ABV until reading the bottle more closely AFTER drinking. Compared to other beers with greater than 7% ABV, this beer did not taste boozy at all!

I like the hoppiness of this red ale. Nice overall flavor, but also best in small amounts (2)

A very hoppy red ale, almost same flavor as jai alai. Not bad, strong beer though!

Malty start. Hoppy finish. Real nice.

Listed as 8.8%, a little on the sweet side. Good.

Intense flavor. IBU of 77 is very well balanced. I like it!!

B-. Kind of an odd flavor. Too hoppy for a traditional red or maybe even for an imperial. Musty aroma with hops and caramel malt. Not as good as I remember. Depending on mood, could be an A-.

Rare brew from Lagunitas that doesn't please my palate, but I'm not big into red ales. Bitter start with a sweeter finish. GLBC's Nosferatu is better.

Fine for a red ale, pretty boozy. Seems like small bubbles, a bit foamy.

Gross. Artificial.
