Not a big lager fan but I did enjoy this. It needs to open up a bit and can?t be served too cold or is otherwise too bitter. Can definitely taste a bit of malt and even some citrus.

Looks like more than 1 style is rated. This is for the bock. Mildly sweet with malty finish. Hard to find a good bock. This one is good.

Pretty well crafted for the rarely done style of a double pils. There's a residual sweetness that would likely only be offset with increased hop additions and a change of name to IPA.

I haven't had too many lagers from Lagunitas because they just do such an awesome job with those ales. The high ABV summoned visions of grand German lagers so I grabbed a bomber to try. Then another one just in case it was good. Now I'm really looking forward to having that second bottle because it is way good. It doesn't have that mellow sweet taste of a Hofbrau but it sure is delicious! The beer is smooth and full of warmth. It leaves no bitter after taste nor an off sweet one which even some of the German brands can. No, this beer is the perfect companion on a hot summer day like I had today at a 104°! It made my day worth the heat.
