DaytonGuy - January 6, 2013My first barley wine style so take this for what it's worth.... This is a really good ale. Very sweet and actually has a wine like taste. There is a nice alcohol flavor on the finish that sorta lingers. A little syrupy though.
Hamm - June 2, 2012Sherry/boozy aroma. Little head on the beer. Dark brown color. Thick caramel, sherry, and slightly boozy taste. Strong malty flavor. Great example of an English barleywine.

Light coca-cola nose. Red/brown in color. Dark malty flavor with balanced hops. A decent brew but near the bottom of my barleywine list
StoutLarry - February 25, 2012First sip was nice, but it's pretty tasteless. If it wasn't for the scotchy alcohol flavor, I'd think I was drinking water.
jdubb - December 2, 2011Truly "Good beer, no shit." Delicious flavor and almost creamy texture as the barley and hops mix beautifully to the delight of your taste buds from the moment the ale touches your lips til it's smoothly gone done your throat. And at 10.5%, it's a masterpiece. A shame this flying dog is overlooked, or perhaps just misunderstood.
