The Traveling Beer Snob - December 21, 2018Rich malty black ale. Lots of flavor. Smooth. Licorice comes through along with vanilla.

weberlee3@gmail.com - December 20, 2016Of course first taste is the hops then just right amount of malt. But the hops are very subtle making this a very, very drinkable brew. Really like this.

tripp.randolph@gmail.com - November 11, 2016Intensely hoppy and intensely black! Eight separate hop additions offer delicious bitterness and beguiling hop aroma and flavor.

ohnoimonfire1 - October 18, 2016SRM24. Very little head but what was there was caramel colored. This is the darkest beer I've ever had, black as night, and it's amazing that something so dark can smell so good. Woody and licorice aromas. More carbonated than a schwarzbier with the flavor of one mixed with an IPA. The taste is very unique and perfect with a beefy cold weather meal.

rajr76@verizon.net - June 30, 2016Not a traditional APA, far closer to an IPA. APA's and black ales are usually far less hoppy. Too hoppy for my taste, not balanced by the black ale.

jsay38 - March 26, 2016Perfect Black IPA. Hoppy on back end with floral notes, malty in front with almost a smoky flavor.

SarahMunz - September 14, 2015Not as hoppy as I normally like, but a nice change of pace.
Bottle, home, Sept 2015.
