Fantasy vs. reality. As humans we enjoy a good piece of fiction. A story exaggerated just enough to stimulate the imagination into believing the improbable is probable. A fantasy as described by Oxford's dictionary is: a fanciful mental image, typically one on which a person dwells at length or repeatedly and which reflects their conscious or unconscious wishes. When an individual, after a hard day providing for their daily bread, sits for a moment to relax and unwind from a day hellbent on destroying the mental image of a life he holds so dear, he needs to experience a fantasy. He wants to experience the mental image that he has used as the desired reward for living another day in this imperfect world. He wants a liquid on his palate that will quell the flames of a demoralizing day. Heady Topper gives the partaker the ability to experience a detachment from reality and hoses the flames of negative experiences burning his reality. But how does a beer accomplish the improbable? How does a beer go from reality to a tangible fantasy? An oxymoron if you will. The answer is in the sensation of the first sip out of the can. That's right, drink Heady Topper straight from the can like the animal you secretly want to be. Obey the command embossed on the can like a prepubescent boy infatuated with the commands of his attractive female third grade teacher, and you will be rewarded with the aroma of hops meticulously selected to arouse fantasy. As each sip passes into the past, you are reminded that the future is a present, a gift provided by the creator to entice the next sip. Your palate splashed with sip after sip reminds you to sip again and again, so that you may fully avail yourself of the remarkable taste of hops, caramel and fruit flavors that singe your tongue in the same way a kiss from an endearing female lover and lifelong companion can accomplish.
