Instant caramel hit. Nicely balanced. Lots of additional flavor ranging from spice cake to the bourbon influence you would expect from this brew. This is one of the best bourbon barrel aged brews around.

I was not expecting to taste anything like this, especially after not being a favorite of some of their other brews. Surprisingly strong bourbon alcohol up front that left a nice burn and gave way to a complex mix of flavors with caramel and fruitcake among them. Finished woody and alcoholy.
