I drank this in Germany for a while. It was available on Ramstein at a building the Belgian A.F. had on base. It has been a while but I remember it as malty, chocolaty, and smooth. A very nice example of an abbey double.

An exceptional refreshing Belgian double ale, with an incredible full body taste. Not too heavy and complex, good balance of sweet coffee chocolate flavor. Cheers from sunny Southern California USA! 9/27/13

Lighter than I expected, with almost a fruity feel. A little bitter with a slight aftertaste. Overall, not bad at all

Dark reddish-orange; starts out strong but finishes nice in the fade - no lingering aftertaste. Roasted nuts and a hint of cherry and just a tinge of sourness that quickly fades. More of a cool weather beer. Excellent Belgian.
