Chocolate coffee taste with a great finish. Delicious beer

Complex and full flavored with a nicely balanced coffee profile. I've enjoyed many stouts, but too many veer to toffee (Yeti) or licorice (Great Lakes Blackout) flavor profiles, with too little balance. Founders got the balance right.

Great beer, has it with a piece of lasagna and it really hit the spot. A lot of flavor

Pours a very dark brown/black with a creamy tan head.
Smells like a fudgesicle dipped in coffee grounds.. Awesome!
The taste is ridiculously balanced- chocolate, then coffee, then caramel and roasty malts, followed by even more chocolate. Brilliant.
Mouthfeel is medium-full.

Smells very chocolatey, slight hints of vanilla and Carmel... Possibly butterscotch or toffee smell as well. Strong coffee taste right as it hits the lips with a strong dark chocolate aftertaste... Very balanced wonderful beer.

A thick, jet black, oily substance pours from the bottle. It smells of chocolate and malt. It builds a thick brown head. The taste is heavenly...thick melted chocolate, fresh gourmet coffee, and a gentle alcohol burn at the end. This is one of the best Russian imperial stouts around... And that's saying something!
