bugs318 - June 20, 2012pours a nice amber with frothy white head and good retention and lacing. Exuding sweet vanilla notes that temper the piney hops, this is one fine smelling IPA! The barrel aging imparts a delightful balance that rounds out, if not limiting, the piney dryness, though with smooth whiskey characteristics that simply add to the complexity. With just a sample, I would like to drink more to say more, but I had enough to know this is a very solid beer! Grade: A-/A
