Metallic taste

A nice Belgian strong ale with hints of holiday spices. Champaign- like carbonation, with some complexity in the flavour profile, but not in the same class as a Rochefort or Gulden Draak.

This is one strong brew, dark raisin fruity color and taste , slightly metallic finish and very carbonated. Overall not bad but I prefer the nocturnal or tremens

Had this beer on vacation in Belgium. STRONG, but smooth. It will knock you on your butt. Not as strong here in the states but still good. The peppermint finish is very enjoyable.

Interesting layered flavors, with each sip discovering something new. Too bad I don't care for malt heavy brews.

Strong iron notes mixed with fruit. Bitter with slight caramel sweetness at tasting followed by some spices. Pretty good but kind of hoped it would be better

23DEC12, Home 22oz, wine snifter Bottle marked April 2011. Very very good. Some orange on the nose with yeasty farmhouse notes. There's definitely a little bit of spice, but it's actually balanced with the yeastiness. It's what I want from a Christmas ale. Warm enough to welcome in the season, yet light enough to continue enjoying through multiple glasses.
