bugs318 - December 22, 2011Huge frothy brown head with moderate lace but poor retention. Dark brown to black in color. Primarily malty aromas of coffee and oaty grains, with a slight hint of chocolate. Flavour is dominated by grainyness and chocolate, with oats and coffee in the slightly drying finish, though this beer is a bit sweeter than dry and therefore slightly unbalanced. On the tongue, this beer is full-bodied and creamy with average carbonation. A very nice ale!
