Very good, though I had extremely high hopes for this one considering the ingredients and the brewery. One of the better porters I've had, though still prefer a Guinness.

16 oz can. Pours jet black with thick off white head, fads slowly leaving tons of lace. Sweet chocolate aroma, maybe a little coconut there. Really like the up front taste, sweet chocolate and a little lactose, good roastiness. Was not too crazy about the back end which had a little too much earthy woodsy husk bitterness and smokiness. This became less intense as it warmed. Mouthfeel was full for a porter. Overall good brew, just would like a little sweeter balance on the back end. September 2015.

Surprisingly bitter for a porter. Smooth start, with long lasting grapefruit notes at the finish, reminding of an IPA

Smoky malty but not over powering

Chocolate toasty stout, very good

Very nice porter, one of my favs of this style
