huskychampion - July 28, 2019Citrus and strong blood orange flavor with a punch of hops. Slight bitter after taste, but great balance of orange and bitter. Pretty tasty, especially if you like orange flavored things.
janomac - July 28, 2019I was worried this would be a ?flavored beer? like so many modern American shandies and other beers with added fruits. I was pleasantly surprised that the blood orange was a true flavor and not like a squirt of added flavoring!
This is a pleasant and mild pale ale that fits a citrusy IPA. Hoppy enough, but not astringent. Sweet enough (from the blood orange) to satisfy those who shy away from bitter IPAs.
Pleasant, fine-foamed head. Sparse lacing. Beautiful gem-like pale amber-yellow color. Citrusy aroma.
I thought this might be a ?one time? and ? one at a time? ale, but I?ll try it again and it now know it would be easy to have more than one at a sitting?even given the 7.7% ABV.
