Not a huge fan of smokey finishes. The only reason for 2.5 stars. I like their imperial ipa much better

Pours a cloudy reddish Amber high creamy head. Very low carbonation with a nice citrusy flowery open an slightly sharp bitter finish. Good drink

APPEARANCE - 3FH, light, clear, foamy, lacing.
AROMA/SCENT - Hops, yeast, fruit, citrus, sweet.
TASTE - Hops, nutty, pine, bread.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Dry, lingering, warming, astringent, bubbly, clean, light, effervescent, frothy.
VALUE - $9.00 for an 12-oz pour. Average.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - OK Imperial IPA, but nothing to write home about.

S - floral notes break through beautifully, with slight citrusy notes. Not very piney on the nose. For an imperial, there is also no alcohol on the nose.
T - complex with a wide variety of hop notes coming through. Slight tinge of grapefruit. Coats the tongue at the finish. No alcohol in the taste for 9%. Thick on the palate and bitter after the long finish. Perfect summer beer.
N - drank from can

Not a bad example of what a double IPA should shoot for: thicker head and body, citrus up forward, an edge of residual sugar. It's missing that bready finish instead of that chalky bitterness making those last few gulps a bit tough to get down.

Citrus nose. Hazy Amber color. Medium body. Some maltiness. Lemon zest finish. Very drinkable at 9%. Smooth with tropical fruits. Really enjoyed this
