White wine forward, light ale middle, herbal, fruity, tart finish. This would go well with fish, chicken, pork, cheeses, and burgers. Enough acid to cut through some grease, but still is a light bodied, fruity ale, with great nuance.

Taste mellows when warmer (Midas touch)

Very sweet, honey/fruity with fine carbonation, like a mead-champagne hybrid. Dangerously drinkable for the ABV.

Fantastic! My personal favorite ancient ale.

Nose is deceiving compared to the bold but eclectic mouthfeel of honey, exotic fruit and fermented grape. Overall a very enjoyable notch above your typical session beer.

Rich rusty golden color with a cream white head, great carbonation. Aroma of honey and white grape, like the description, similar to mead. Taste matches nose, heavy hits of orange blossom honey with raisiny white grape undertone. Dry finish. Like Midas with a twist. A great fruit/spice ale with a cool story, conservative beer drinkers beware!

A more subtly spiced Dogfish Head brew than their Midas, with a lighter feel on the tongue.

Too sweet. Not my favorite of the ancient series.

Proof that not all that is dogfish head is good.

Good with sushi! Nice fruity element and ancient ale spicy backdrop.
