wordnerdguy - December 9, 2012I'm discovering that I'm not a Bell's Brewery fan. This Winter White Ale is my third foray into their line of craft brewed beers, and like the others, this one continues to disappoint.
A cloudy wheat yellow pour with nice bread and biscuit notes on the nose. The finish is malt and yeast and pleasant. But an odd combination of black pepper and grapefruit left me scratching my head. These are not winter, seasonal flavors and in my opinion, don't belong in a seasonSl beer.
I'd give this an 80. Perhaps I'd up the rating somewhat if this were touted as a summer sipper. But a cold weather warmer this is not.
