Ok. Had in a flight of amazing beers. This was 3 of 3.

Six months did some magic on this one. Fresh, it was very oak and ash forward with a lot of alcohol. Now, everything has had a chance to meld together. Chocolate, light bourbon, coffee and oak all smoothed over a nice peaty malt. Great beer!

I my must be on some trend for barrel-aged stouts because this is the fourth different one I've had in a row. While not as full bodied as my last at BJ's, it's definitely still delicious. The bourbon is pronounced but not distracting from the stout. In fact, it enhances it with a bit of sweetness like many of this style do. Now, is it worth the $20 per bottle? Well, it is an anniversary edition so there's the reason for the mark up. If your willing to pluck that much down for this 500 ML of goodness then I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thick, ivory, foamy head that lingers. Deep, forward notes of coffee and roasted malt buttressed with a touch of chocolate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Roasted coffee dominates the palate. Great stuff.
