Subtle coffee notes and very malty. Delicious.

A wonderfully dark red colour and oatmeal coloured head. Lightly roasted malts and well balanced hops on the nose. Well roasted malts on the palate - not quite to chocolate roast, very strong at the front, but mellowing slightly towards the end. The finish is long and the body light. If this were a porter, I'd dock points for the lack of body, but it fits well for an autumn ale. The complexity fits the season, and the body acts as a nice bridge to the heavier beers of late autumn and winter. The only thing that I think would improve this ale would be to brew it with pie spices to really solidify the autumn theme. That and a little more body, but that's a personal preference.

Damn that's a good beer! A few more of these and I will be limber enough to run The Whales Tail!!

Looks and smells like a stout. Tastes like...heaven? Easily the best ale I've had. Ale and stout fans will enjoy it.
