Lighter tasting than expected

First is the vanilla, nose and taste, smooth finish

Tons of chocolate and coffee notes. Very good.

I expected something different...something more. Not bad, but this is more meh than anything. Both the java and vanilla are barely noticeable. Disclosure: I've had this a while. Bottle label notched April 2010. Today is 1/31/14.

Slightly below average for a porter. Doesn't have enough body or carbonation. Tastes kind of fake. It's got a good vanilla aroma though.

Nice sipping beer. Very warming with nice vanilla notes. Not to be drunk in pints.
