Tastes like an IPA/stout

Hoppy for a stout.

I paid $4.35 for a 12oz and stouts are my favorite so I have high expectations. It pours dark, little head, not smooth at all, and an almost a raisin taste. However it is extremely hoppy for a stout. It is actually quite disgusting and I love beer and especially stouts but the hoppiness ruins it.

Rich and smokey flavor not the best I've ever had but not the worst very pricey for what it is

pours a jet black with a frothy, rocky tan head of fair retention and lacing. Cocoa and molasses/grainy malt notes are most present on the nose, with a hint of smoke. True to the American style, it is quite well-hopped, but this appears more in the flavour that is quite drying in a smoky sort of bitterness. Medium-full bodied and chewy as desired, it felt great to the tongue. As it is bottle-conditioned and meant for aging, I would like to taste it after some mellowing time, but for a 'green' tasting, it is still quite pleasant. (Early) Grade: A-

On nitro at Green Well. Smooooth. Big head. Warmed well. Nothing special but tasty.
