smells like poor - March 31, 20126 month old bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Jet black with a three finger brown head that slowly disappears.
Aroma: The aroma isn't very strong. I pick up light notes of coffee and maple syrup.
Taste: This isn't very complex for a RIS. None of the tastes are very strong either. The bouquet includes chocolate, coffee, and syrup. This doesn't have much warmth for a beer that is around 9%.
Overall: This is a decent beer, but there are much better Russian imperial stouts out there.
