A. Very alcoholic, but not in a bad way. A bit sweet, complex, can taste brandy.

This is a hard beer to rate. I had a 2008 vintage last week that seemed past its prime: weak, dull, and unbalanced. Tonight, I'm drinking a 2009 bottle that's better...marginally. The taste is luscious and enticing, of raisins, caramel, and toffee, but the beer is flat, (intentionally, I'm sure)...This still nature doesn't work here, as the desired taste of alcoholic potency is restrained, and what's left is a beer that tastes like it has "fallen flat." If the alcohol shined through a bit more convincingly, then perhaps the still nature would seem more appropriate.

Overpoweringly "bourbony." caramel, vanilla, and hints of licorice. Wood and earth middle a little funky and watery at the end. Aftertaste was a little like NyQuil. Not bad, but not perfect.
