sudz - January 22, 2017Took a growler home from the Stone Company Store and opened it about a week later. Plenty of carbonation...poured deep copper with a big, lofty off-white head that really lingered, despite the high ABV. For a beer that's been aging for four years (drank the 2013 in 2017), it still has assertive hop bitterness to balance the pronounced malty sweetness. This beer will probably be better two or three years from now when the bitterness subsides and the malt sweetness turns to caramel and toffee. Right now it's a beer divided...sweet up front, bitter in the back. Like one too many of my exes! LOL!! Sorry...I just had to!! Haha!!
